- 1 Tbsp yeast
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 240ml warm water
- 1/2 small white onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic, diced
- 190g Plain Flour
- 4 Tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- Mix the yeast and the sugar in a bowl and add in the warm water and mix. Allow to rest (Prove) for 20mins it is ready when the mixture has a froth on the surface.
- Lightly fry the onion and the garlic until the onion loses its colour.
- Add the onion and garlic to the yeast mixture and mix.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and mix into a dough.
- Knead the dough until it is soft and can be stretched without breaking.
- Divide into 18 skinny sticks.
- Place on grease proof paper and leave to prove again in a warm place (like a hot press or a warm oven). In around 30 minutes they should have doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake for 10 minutes until golden brown.
