So you’re thinking of turning Vegetarian.

The fact that you have clicked on this blog means you are considering vegetarianism. Good for you! Now I must make this clear this is not intended to encourage everyone to be vegetarian, this is just intended for those people who need the extra little push.

  1. Losing weight

A diet without meat is naturally a diet which is lower in calories. If you are a person who eats a lot of processed meats such as fast food burgers and pepperoni pizzas these results will be evident so quickly.

  1. Feel better

Not only does a plant-based diet make you feel better physically, it will make you feel better emotionally. The fact that you are reading this means you are not entirely comfortable with eating meat and removing this from your diet would free you from that subconscious guilt.

  1. Not having to inspect your food

You know when you’re eating a sausage and you come across something icky and then for the next couple of weeks you spend the majority of time eating a sausage inspecting it before you bite. (I’m regretting choosing sausage as my example)

  1. No food poisoning

This is a serious plus. Your only concern about if a food is cooked properly is how it will taste you no longer have to worry about it coming back out.

  1. More vitamins

By excluding meat from your diet fruit and vegetables will naturally form a bigger part of your diet. This means more vitamins and minerals. You will not believe how quickly your skin will clear up and become brighter

  1. Variety

If you are a person who loves to eat and loves to cook, then vegetarianism is a wonderful world to explore. You’ll find lots of dishes you had no idea existed, and you’ll also have fun trying to recreate dishes that commonly contain meat. Side note it’s also great fun to try and create these dishes for omnivores and see how they enjoy them.

  1. The diet is more inclusive than you think.

At the start, you may find the diet restrictive and feel like you don’t have as many choices when eating out but you will quickly adapt and find it easier. Did you know some chicken noodles are vegan? There is so much more than salad!

  1. The world is full of protein

Everyone suddenly becomes a nutritionist when you go vegetarian. “Where do you get your protein” will become a question you’ll get tired of answering. You may as well memorize the following list (and there is a lot more)

  • Non-Dairy Milk.
  • Nut Butter
  • Quinoa
  • Tofu
  • Lentils
  • Nuts
  • Beans
  • Tempeh
  • Seeds

*Extra- we do not need meat to live.
